The Goddess of the soul, Psyche’s name has come to describe the beliefs, values, and the inner workings that make up the soul. Wearing Psyche is a constant reminder to look inward, because like a butterfly, you transform through difficulty.
Psyche is often shown with butterfly wings that represent the soul’s metamorphic journey. Her wings are raised out from the pendant and she holds the soul-searching white topaz third eye.
A pure hearted Greek princess, Psyche captured the heart of Eros, god of love. Married in secret, Psyche broke Eros’s trust and he fled, leaving her heartbroken. Aphrodite, Eros’s mother, gave Psyche four impossible tasks to complete in order to win back the love she had lost.
Through her mistakes, failures, and deep inner soul-searching through the four impossible tasks, Psyche never gave up on true love. Though the last task was insurmountable, Eros returned to save Psyche and win her immortality, and she became a Goddess.
Psyche represents the purity of a soul transformed by the redemptive power of love. Her story reflects the journey of the soul, and how through difficulty, discomfort and deep inner reflection, we grow into the highest version of ourselves.
