The global standard for centuries, .925 sterling silver represents the ideal silver for jewelry. The number .925 indicates the percentage of the metal that is pure silver. Whereas 100% pure silver is too soft, malleable, and prone to damage for wear, .925 sterling silver adds 7.5% other hypoallergenic metals for added durability, allowing for intricate designs that stand up to everyday wear.

Originating in 18th century France, gold vermeil comprises a thick layer of 14k gold bonded over sterling silver. Our gold vermeil uses 40% more gold than industry standards, for a lasting, hypoallergenic finish you can trust. Unlike standard gold-plated jewelry, true vermeil is designed to endure daily wear when cared for thoughtfully.

Awe was founded by Jill Johnson, a trained gemologist with 4+ decades of experience and three-time cancer survivor. From the beginning, Jill was determined to build Awe with intention — from selecting the Goddesses that would become the heart of Awe’s collections, to establishing ethical sourcing partners who could make something not only beautiful, but meaningful. That vision and intentionality continues to guide every decision we make.

 All of our gemstone suppliers adhere to the Kimberley Process, an international certification that ensures ethical labor practices and environmental oversight at the mining level. Our manufacturing partners comply with U.S. labor standards, providing healthcare, time off, living wages, and safe, comfortable working conditions. Many also utilize water recycling systems to significantly reduce environmental impact.   Our packaging is made from 90% recycled materials, and we are continually working to minimize single-use plastics across our operations. And because Awe handles design, production, fulfillment, and customer care in-house, we’re able to produce our collections consciously, in small batches.
