Spiritual Wellness: Nature Goddesses Unite

Spiritual Wellness: Nature Goddesses Unite

It’s no question that the word “wellness” has become a buzzword over the years, but it goes beyond being a trendy concept. Wellness is something that we all need desperately and we all should be prioritizing. Between doomscrolling at 11PM on a Tuesday night to the neverending pressure to hustle, to the earth shattering weekly news on repeat to the everyday gravity of our unique lives—we need to find wellness wherever we can. Instagram it-girls may convince you that wellness can be found only at expensive day spas, aesthetically beautiful vacations to Bali, or with wellness gurus, but if you have a body and you live on this planet, wellness can be found right outside.

We live on a beautiful planet and nature is (in our humble opinion) the most healing force out there. It’s constant, it’s inspiring, it provides, and it can truly help you connect with yourself in ways that no guru or massage ever can… (although, who is going to turn their nose up at those either?). Spending time in nature has been proven that it benefits mental and physical health, even sharpening cognition. With the summer season in full swing, now is the time to find ways to add a bit of the outside inside — inside your spirit and inside your home too.

We’ve compiled a few ideas to help you easily connect with nature, and a couple of meaningful pieces you can add to your sanctuary or wear to remind yourself that you're a creature of this earth, deserving of wellness and peace.

Earthing - Perhaps one of the most simple ways to physically connect with our natural surroundings. Simply find a piece of earth, take off your shoes, and stand. Feel the ground beneath you, listen to the sounds around you, breathe deeply and concentrate on the moment you’re in. Studies have shown that earthing can increase energy and normalize the body's biological rhythms. And while we are grasping the earth under our toes, we’re wearing our Gaia Necklace to help channel the Earth Goddess herself.

Aromatherapy - Scents can be truly healing and to add a bit of nature inside, one of the easiest ways to do that is with aromatherapy using natural scents. We recommend uplifting scents if you’re working from home, like citrus, and lavender when you’re winding down. An Awe favorite is the Eucalyptus Peppermint Shower Mist from Plant Oil by Ardent Goods in our Sanctuary Goods marketplace. Perfect for early mornings to pep up or even used after a workout to soothe the muscles in a steamy shower.

Forest bathing - Like earthing, forest bathing is an easy instant mood booster. Originating in 1982 when the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries created the term shinrin-yoku, which translates to “forest bathing” or “absorbing the forest atmosphere,” the practice is simple, and encourages people to spend time in nature — no bathing required. What’s the goal of forest bathing? It’s simply to live in the present moment while immersing your senses in nature. While you’re immersing yourself in the magic of the forest, we suggest wearing the Nymph Necklace, because if you have a love of nature, you might identify with nymphs and their desire to immerse themselves in the beauty of the natural world.

Outdoor yoga and meditation - There is no question that yoga and meditation are great additions to your physical and mental health routines, but next time you grab your mat, head outside. While outdoors, your senses are heightened and those heightened senses can release more endorphins. Plus they will help you connect to the environment around you. At our next outdoor yoga and meditation session, we will be bringing our Walden Meditation Cushion + Mat Set by Walden and will be wearing our Asymmetric Moonstone Studs because moonstone balances out all the energies and brings peace and stability.

Visiting a spiritual vortex - While you may not be able to step outside and into a spiritual vortex, it’s worth adding this natural healing phenomenon to your bucket list. What is a spiritual vortex? Spiritual vortexes are said to be cross-points between energy fields in the earth's grid system, or intersecting ley lines. The result is said to be an energetic "hotspot" that can induce spiritual healing, psychic enhancement, and help align one’s chakra system. A few places to add to your travel list if you’re interested in these magnetic wonders are the Egyptian Pyramids, Machu Picchu in Peru, Stonehenge in England, the Sedona desert in the US, and Uluru in Australia. To increase the energy and healing, we will be wearing a piece from our Aura Collection

Bringing the outdoors in - We all have busy lives and may not have time to visit every spiritual vortex, forest bathe, or find the perfect outdoor space to practice yoga. But an easy way to incorporate nature into our everyday life is to build a sanctuary indoors that uses elements from nature. Crystals are a great way to add something that is not only beautiful but cleansing into your space. We love the Clear Quartz by Before Noon and we will be wearing the Crystal Quartz Huggies to dispel negativity  in the home.

However you are adding wellness-enhancing practices into your life is beneficial, and with nature being the most accessible path to healing, you can find us this summer with our toes in the sand, our noses inhaling every scent of the forest, and our hands outstretched feeling the breeze.
