The Summer Solstice and Reaping What You’ve Sown

Ah, summer. It tops the list as the favorite season for many, and it’s not hard to see why. Summer is often filled with sunny days, trips to the beach, time taken off for vacations or getaways, flowers in full bloom, popsicles and ice cream, the evocative scent of chlorine and sunblock, and a uniform of flip flops and sundresses. It’s a restful time when we don’t feel so guilty about lazing about on a hot, humid day. Years later, when we look back on all the summers of our lives, we may get wistful and nostalgic, and wish to experience them all over again.

The summer solstice (June 21) is the longest day of the year, when the sun shines bright and fierce, all of its energy directed at us, and, if we allow that energy in, we can renew, invigorate, and enliven our spirit. The summer solstice marks the official start of summer. In earlier times, it was also the beginning of a season of bounty and abundance when all that had been sown in spring was now available for reaping.

Spiritually, the summer solstice is also a time to reap what you’ve sown. This magical day’s energy will allow your goals, dreams, and intentions to reach a glorious fruition. In short, wishes can come true during the summer solstice. Astronomically speaking, the planet is also the closest to the sun that it will be all year…and so are we. The power of this energy should not be overlooked.

Meanwhile, astrologically, the Summer Solstice coincides with the beginning of Cancer season. After the vivacious Gemini season, Cancer season invites us to relax, chill out, and retreat into our shells, so to speak. If you’re a Cancer or know someone who is, our Cancer Zodiac Pendant will help highlight all of a Cancer’s best attributes.

To accelerate the accomplishment of goals and the manifestation of dreams, our Flower Bouquet Necklace is the perfect piece to remind you of summer’s bounty and your own abundance. Similarly, the Yellow Aura Necklace features a citrine stone at its center to bring about prosperity and great luck.

If you’re a summer lover, your inner Goddess might be Demeter. She is the Greek Goddess of the harvest and was worshiped for providing bounty and helping humanity thrive. The Demeter Goddess Pendant will remind you that you’re worthy of great fortune and success. For all of you water babies out there, our new Amphitrite and Yemaya Goddess Pendants are also must-haves to remind you of beautiful beach days by the sea and connect you to the ocean.

Another way to harness the full abundance of the summer solstice is with our popular Affirmations Edit, particularly the “I Am Worthy of Abundance” piece. The “Say Yes to New Adventures” bracelet can also remind you to dive in and have a lot of adventures all summer long.

What symbolizes summer better than the delicate, evanescent butterfly? Our Butterfly Ring with white enamel embellishments is a dainty piece you’ll love to wear to remind you that though summer may not last forever, it can perpetually endure in your heart if you let it.

Don’t let the summer solstice pass you by without drawing its energy into your heart and soul.
