About the Product

An Iranian warrior on a lion, sword held aloft, hair flowing free. She is a sheerzan – the word for “lioness” in Persian. Building on the activism and organizing of Kurdish women, who originated the chant: “Woman, Life, Freedom,” Iranian women and girls are protesting gender-based violence and bravely fighting for their human rights and freedom.

The most recent protests in Iran were sparked by the murder of Zhina Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish woman who was killed by the "morality police" for not wearing her hijab correctly. This necklace symbolizes women’s strength and courage around the world.
