Celebrating Nurses Week

Celebrating Nurses Week

Nurses Week is an annual celebration of the incredible nurses who have devoted their lives to the betterment of the lives of others. All different types of nurses (registered nurses, nurse practitioners, LPNs, and others) contribute to their communities in so many different and hugely important ways. This week is the time to show our support to the nurses in our lives, as well as the entire nursing profession. As a society, we asked more of nurses this past year than ever before. Nurses Week 2021 is a time to sincerely reflect and celebrate the efforts made by nurses everywhere to improve health conditions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Of course, one week of recognition is not nearly enough, and it is important to share our gratitude by offering our support for the work nurses do every day, in times of crisis, and always.

Florence Nightingale was an English social reformer, nurse, and leader in modern science. Her efforts to reform healthcare significantly influenced the quality of care in the 19th and 20th centuries. She is most famously known for making hospitals a cleaner and safer place, revolutionizing healthcare with her approach to hygiene and sanitization. Florence Nightingale serves as a symbol of perseverance, knowledge, and care. Over 100 years after her death, her legacy continues (Nurses Week actually ends on the anniversary of Nightingale’s birthday!) Awe is honored to have Florence Nightingale forever immortalized on our Goddess pendants. 20% of the proceeds will benefit the American Nurses Foundation, particularly their COVID relief fund  which provides mental and financial support to nurses across the country.
